About us
We’re on an exciting journey to transform our Group and the way we’re shaping finance for good. We’re focusing on the future, investing in our technologies, workplaces, and colleagues to make our Group a great place for everyone. Including you!
About this opportunity
The Trade Execution Lab has recently been born off the back of the LBG undertaking one of the largest financial services transformations changing the way we work to ensure we remain relevant to our customers today and tomorrow. It’s a pivotal moment, and we want to be at the forefront as our industry becomes more tech enabled.
The lab itself is centred around supporting 3 products that underpin the Markets platform; Trade Management & Control, Cash & Collateral Management and Trade Settlements.
Some of the key fundamentals underpinning the lab are; Products not Projects, more Platform Autonomy, Consistently Sized & Organised Teams, Bringing Business and Tech closer together.
We’ve created labs and we’re building multi-functional, co-located teams giving them freedom to bring technology to the forefront of our business. People sit at the heart of what we do, and this role is no exception – as cliched as it is, we need a true people person to join us and help lead the way with the future transformation of our Murex centred FX & Commodities teams under the Trade Management & Control product.
What you’ll do
Reporting into the FX & Comm Lead Engineer, your primary responsibilities will be:
- Developing the Murex application
- Working with colleagues in the team and across the business in a caring and collaborative manner
- ‘Build’ level knowledge of Murex of configurations in one or more Front, Middle or Back Office technical modules including pretrade rules (Murex scripting language), OSP configuration, Trade/Settlement workflows, simulation views, STP, rights, Market Data
- Create documentation for all development work undertaken and have a documentation mindset to effectively share information across the team/s.
- Provide Level 2 troubleshooting and problem assistance to Production support and testing teams
- Living and breathing Lloyds’ core values and behaviours
What you’ll need
Your appreciation of the technical and functional aspects of the Markets and Treasury businesses and functions should cover some of these areas - but rest assured, we won’t expect you to know everything! To achieve these things, you’ll have relevant experience and will have been successful in a similar role with broad and solid technical experience of the Murex application.
- You’ll be an experienced software Engineer with solid and broad Murex expertise, constantly delivering change to the application and its eco-system.
- Experience with Murex DataMart, c2 Java and/or MXML
- An understanding of Markets/Treasury asset classes, products and their associated trade lifecycles
- An appreciation of database and application server technologies and operating systems as well as database concepts (e.g. Oracle)
- Familiarity with the concept of automated testing and process automation
- A grounding in application and database security concepts and controls
- Experience of migrations/transfers to/from application platforms
- Exposure to Agile methodologies
