Software Engineer - NEAR

Your team works with a software product in the area of Continuous Deployment (CD). The aim is to provide our customers an end2end automated continuous deployment solution. It is designed both to support automated deployment and testing of software applications (Nokia network elements) to our customers premises.
This CD product reuses modern open-source components available on the market, integrating them and completing with our own code with the goal of productization. You will be integrated to a team that is responsible for the development of the Nokia Enterprise Artifact Repository product.
As a senior software engineer your job is to work in close cooperation with the development and product management teams and make sure that the software is ready for production deployments.

As part of our team, you will:

• Be involved in all phases of a development lifecycle: understand and analyze product requirements; find and reuse open-source or other components available on the market; develop new software code; implement non-functional features of the product using K8S framework; and finally take part in testing and verification.
• Participate in the teamwork following Agile/Scrum practices: You will estimate work amounts in own area, participate in detailed work planning’s and develop the tasks as a result of these.
• Cooperate with other Nokia teams worldwide on daily basis.
• Install and integrate our product in labs, execute automated and manual tests on it, report the findings to the development team and help them to reproduce and correct the issues.
• Automate test scenarios, develop tools and scripts for repetitive tasks.

The ideal candidate should be in possession of most of the following technical and interpersonal skills:

• BsC or MsC in computer science, telecommunications or related field
• 5-8 years of software and product development or testing experience
• Solid knowledge of cloud computing, container technologies and related areas
• Experience and hands on knowledge with Kubernetes and Docker
• Experience with Golang and Scala
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

The following qualifications and skills are considered as strong advantage:

• Experience in some scripting language (like Bash, Perl or Python)
• Experience with Helm and Istio
• Knowledge of Jenkins based CI/CD environment
• Basic understanding of IP networking fundamentals
