Job Description Summary: Implement next generation cloud platform with cluster managers (Kubernetes) and containers (docker/containerd) in Multi Cloud (public and private) to support PayPal business teams to scale their applications that serve millions of customers world wide and process billions of dollars in payments. The engineer would drive solutions and implementation leveraging different open source distributed systems, drive its adoption and deliver a complete product. Engineer would be creative to build brand new solutions from scratch and operate the platform. This platform built on best of breed technologies will be open sourced and the engineer would be part of that journey.

MEET OUR TEAM:

Container Platform team manages core container platform and infrastructure along with containerizing and managing lifecycle of all PayPal applications. It is a central team supporting Developers and Operations to develop, build and run applications and manage infrastructure. We are looking for passionate engineer to join our team and part of building next generation platform at PayPal.

YOUR DAY TO DAY

  • You will form part of a global team that will drive best practice in the PaaS/CaaS arena. Joining next generation Container platform team, opportunity to learn and improvise distributed systems.
  • You will adapt to new Container Platform technologies, build and release processes, production topologies and architecture to support environmental issues, identify gaps in platform, process and work with platform team to improvise tools, process and platform.
  • You will be developing automations, dashboard, monitoring/alerting to help reduce TTD and TTR.
  • Scope could include technical lead responsibilities, troubleshooting and fixing issues as surfaces. Support developer and production operations teams to unblock them, overcome any failed customer interactions. Expectation to support 24/7/365/day on-call operations personnel.
  • Looking for passionate engineers with hunger to learn and adapt to technologies, use new technologies fits best to provide platform efficiency, reliability and performance.

The U.S. national annual pay range for this role is $72700 to $176000
For the majority of employees, PayPal’s balanced hybrid work model offers 3 days in the office for effective in-person collaboration and 2 days at your choice of either the PayPal office or your home workspace, ensuring that you equally have the benefits and conveniences of both locations.
