JOB DESCRIPTION
U.S. Bank is seeking a full-time Software Engineer - Pega Systems (Multiple openings) in Charlotte, NC.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
This position requires a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science or Computer Engineering and 5 years of related (progressive, post-baccalaureate) software development experience using Pega.
REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:
Must also have 3 years (36 months) of experience with each of the following: 1) Design and development using Pega PRPC, J2EE platform (Java, EJB, JMS, JSP, Java Servlets), XML based technologies to include DOM and SAX based parsing, XSLT, XML schema, XML binding development, and user interfaces by using technologies like JavaScript, HTML, CSS for BPM solutions. 2) Integrating applications internally and externally using one or more web services (REST APIs, SOAP, JSON, EJB, JMS, MQ, SQL). 3) Delivery governance and methodology including Agile, Scrum model and Waterfall; and articulating and managing tasks using software project tracking tools like JIRA, or Rational Team Concert. 4) Be responsible for tuning database queries for better performance and scalability of Oracle. 5) Be responsible for supporting enterprise applications in production to bring stability by addressing functional defects and performance related issues using Pega, WebSphere application server and Linux operating system. 6) Must be Pega certified senior system architect (CSSA) or higher. Employer will accept experience gained concurrently.

Responsibilities:
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Software Engineer - Pega Systems will collaborate with a team and across the organization; take responsibility of the software artifacts produced adhering to U.S. Bank standards to ensure minimal impact to the customer experience. Additional job duties include the following:
- Performing design and development using Pega PRPC, J2EE platform (Java, EJB, JMS, JSP, Java Servlets), XML based technologies to include DOM and SAX based parsing, XSLT, XML schema, XML binding development, and user interfaces by using technologies like JavaScript, HTML, CSS for BPM solutions.
- Integrating applications internally and externally using one or more web services (REST APIs, SOAP, JSON, EJB, JMS, MQ, SQL).
- Working closely with other team members, stakeholders, DevOps engineers, and product support engineering to build a scalable and efficient application.
- Working using delivery governance and methodology includes agile, scrum model and waterfall.
- Articulating and managing tasks using software project tracking tools like JIRA, or Rational Team Concert.
- As part of development, being responsible for tuning database queries for better performance and scalability of Oracle.
- Being responsible for supporting enterprise applications in production to bring stability by addressing functional defects and performance related issues using Pega, WebSphere application server and Linux operating system.
- Providing SSO integration support using LDAP and Federated Identity Management solutions.
