We are looking for a motivated and talented Software Engineer to join one of our growing development team. In this role, you’ll be the driving force for technical excellence. Your focus will be ensuring the cross-functional team is crafting robust and scalable applications utilising modern frameworks like Next.js and React related technologies.
You will have experience in developing software that is reliable, cost optimised, performant, supportability, secure and sustainable.

SKILLS KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERTISE

  • Someone with significant and proven hands-on commercial software engineering experience
  • Demonstrable experience developing with TypeScript and React (ideally Next.js) and related front-end technologies
  • Experience with version control systems (e.g. Git) and CI/CD pipelines
  • Experience in developing and consuming RESTful APIs
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail. Able to inspire and challenge the organisation with your problem-solving capabilities.
  • Demonstrate an ability to communicate, work well and challenge others to meet product delivery deadlines
  • Passion for learning and staying updated with evolving technologies
  • Familiar with Agile working practices, tools and ceremonies
  • Beneficial to have working development knowledge of AWS

Responsibilities:

As a competent individual contributor, with leadership potential in a hybrid, Agile working environment; you will play a pivotal role in the development of innovative, cutting-edge web applications.

  • Designing, developing, and maintaining high-quality, scalable serverless and performant web applications using frameworks like Next.js
  • Ensuring code quality by writing clean, well-structured, and maintainable code with a focus on performance, security, scalability, reliability and best practices. Able to commit code early and often, demonstrating understanding of version control & branching strategies
  • Executing software solutions, designing, developing, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems
  • Leveraging AWS (Amazon Web Services) services such as Lambda, DynamoDB, and S3 to build efficient, cost-effective, and scalable solutions – during your probation you will be given the opportunity to gain AWS certification
  • Collaborating closely with product managers, designers, and other engineers to define, design, and implement new features and enhancements. Being an active participant in technical discussions, contributing with informed opinions to the decision-making process
  • Developing and consuming RESTful APIs and integrating with third-party services
  • Staying up to date with the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices to continuously improve our products and development processes
  • Contributes to our software engineering communities of practice and events that explore new and emerging technologies
  • Sharing knowledge with the wider engineering community
  • Mentoring and developing others around you
