Description
SAIC has an immediate need for a Software Engineer to support the MLRS team located on Redstone Arsenal, in Huntsville, Alabama.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree and zero (0) years of related experience; four (4) years of experience accepted in lieu of degree

REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • Experience programming with C or C++
  • Simulink modeling and Code Generation to design control algorithms
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Strong embedded systems concepts and able to participate in all phase activities of the software development lifecycle

DESIRED SKILLS:

  • Object-oriented programming and design
  • Software Development for Embedded Systems experience
  • Agile Development experience within Scrum teams
  • Working on a cross-functional teams with many engineering disciplines
  • Continuous Integration and Automation
  • Team leadership and prior experience helping to recruit engineers

Responsibilities:

  • Design and development of hardware-in-the-loop systems used to test embedded software for military weapon systems primarily as a Modeling and Simulations Engineer using Simulink; This includes full life cycle of a software program, requirements analysis, design, coding, integration, test, documentation, and support.
  • Participate in software team meetings, hardware and software design reviews, and technical interchange meetings. The software engineering process also empowers the candidate to work with Cyber, Safety, QC, Operations, and Test organizations to deliver high quality working software.
  • Work in a team environment, with well-defined goals, supporting both new and legacy embedded systems.
  • Receive timely feedback on software implementation by working directly with the customer, ensuring agility and delivering a software product that fills immediate needs.
