Rite-Solutions, Inc. is currently seeking a skilled and motivated Software Engineer/Web Developer to support the development, configuration, and sustainment of various tactical software and web-based development projects. This position if full time, located at NUWCDIVNPT in Newport, RI.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Software Engineer will develop and manage web applications related to US Navy visualization and command and control of autonomous vehicles. This work entails developing front end browser applications, maintaining and updating communications protocols, and integrating new capability into existing Code 45 applications. This individual will conduct lab and field test and evaluation of web-based applications, manage development software configuration management, and support a continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) model to streamline development.

REQUIREMENTS / SKILLS:

• Must be a US citizen and hold an active (within 2 years) DoD security clearance at the SECRET level.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or similar field with minimum 5 years’ experience; degree requirements may be waived in lieu of specific advanced experience in web applications development greater than 5 years.
• Demonstrated understanding of web development tools and practices, and software engineering and development.
• Experience with Linux-based infrastructures and Linux/Unix administration (RHEL6/CentOS6, RHEL7/CentOS7)
• Knowledge of scripting languages, such as Bash, Python and Ruby
• Experience with configuration management and source control tools, such as Git/Git Runner/Jira.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience.
• Experience building software packages and establishing dependencies.

ADDITIONAL SKILLS OF INTEREST:

• Code development using Java, Python, C++
• Develop and maintain automated build, test, deployment, and infrastructure tools
• Experience performing troubleshooting in mission-critical infrastructures
• Knowledge of Defense industry standards and practices
• Knowledge of industry trends, IT operations and industry best practices to identify best implementation approaches
• Active US DoD security clearance at the Secret level

• Front-end web development using NodeJS, Angular, React or VueJS
• Troubleshoot issues during testing and production
• Manage code deployments, fixes, updates, and software configuration management
• Maintain regular communications with customer and functional team leads
