Description:

As a Software Engineering Team Lead, you’ll focus on driving technical delivery and ensuring our products meet customer needs. You’ll guide and support engineers across disciplines, establishing software engineering standards and best practices. Collaborating with architecture teams, you’ll guide design and implementation, enhancing CI/CD processes and quality.
You’ll be overseeing end-to-end project delivery, encouraging knowledge sharing, and fostering team growth. With robust technical experience, you’ll engage with a variety of technologies such as cloud services, containers, and observability tools. You’ll be part of a team delivering software in an agile, improvement-driven environment.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • Extensive experience in Software Engineering, QA, DevOps, and leadership roles, architecture, test engineering, and cloud-based workloads
  • Ability to create, manage, and mentor high-performing, customer-focused teams that align with business needs
  • In-depth knowledge of IT delivery processes such as Disciplined Agile, Kanban, and Lean, with an adaptability to change, and experience in refactoring large applications and legacy systems
  • Significant experience in the Betting & Gaming, Retail, or Banking sectors, with a passion for sports, familiarity with containerized workloads (Docker, Mesos, Marathon, Kubernetes), and AWS certification

Responsibilities:

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

  • Manage a multi-discipline team, including Developers, QAs, and Cloud/Systems Engineers
  • Share your knowledge with the team while continuously learning, focusing on team empowerment and performance metrics like DORA
  • Lead architecture and design discussions, aligning with the overall architecture strategy, and take on DA Architecture Owner responsibilities
  • Promote Lean-Agile methodologies helping the team embrace Disciplined Agile (DA) behaviours, values, and best practices
  • Ensure technical standards such as code quality, security, and technical debt are upheld with transparency, using visible dashboards
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders on projects, product enhancements, and efforts while supporting business goals
  • Oversee team development through regular 1-to-1s, personal development plans, and performance evaluations, while contributing to recruitment efforts
  • Support production environments and collaborate with product teams to develop quality solutions, ensuring software integrity and overseeing technical debt
