Job Description

JOB DESCRIPTION

In Power Control Business campus in Katowice, we are looking for an accomplished Firmware and Software Development Manager to join our team and lead an organization of experienced engineers building industrial drives that are part of the Connected Enterprise while helping us continue to build a world-class engineering organization. You will lead teams in multiple functional areas building the best industrial drives products. These agile engineering teams continue to provide Rockwell Automation’s solutions to solve our customers’ manufacturing challenges and increase their productivity. You’ll help further these teams, which include first-line people leaders, by bringing your passion for people development and technical leadership. You will report to and work directly with the Director/Site Leader and have insight and influence on both local and global operations of Power Control Business.

    This role is deigned to be hybrid, as it is equally important to maintain personal presence with the local team in Katowice and multiple remote connections with global PCB leaders in remote locations. We are looking for candidates that can bring diverse set of experience and ideas to our team and we are open for discussion on how to align your personal commitments with role requirements.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide Strategic management and lead with a vision.
  • Lead team(s) to evolve/create product designs and product solutions that are robust, stable, extensible and cost-effective.
  • Identify technology gaps and opportunities and determine when to make a case for resourcing (and when not to). May negotiate new boundaries for their area of ownership to achieve a better outcome.
  • Handle critical problems, decisions, and escalations and mitigates risks.
  • Ensure the right people are in the right job and build succession plans.
  • Create leader opportunities. Work with Business and engineering colleagues to define and refine overall business opportunities. Lead independently.
  • Develop teams and assist them with goal setting and their execution.
  • Manage multiple teams and first-line managers, by providing for their continued development, guidance and performance management.
  • Take leadership for an organizational initiative and work with peer managers globally to move areas talent management, continuous integration/ delivery or process change forward. You will also be responsible for project sponsorship.
  • Ensure product development activities comply with corporate and business-level processes.
  • Help the team think and create a continuous improvement mindset.
  • Encourage a positive and inclusive work environment to foster outstanding performance.
  • Work with leadership to understand and implement the vision of a performance-driven and collaborative workplace.
  • Help your team eliminate unnecessary work by leading design capabilities and process improvement activities, optimizing the delivery of customer value, and reducing time-to-market.
  • Create environment that promotes new ideas and effectiveness, fostered by intense collaboration in a hybrid workplace arrangement.
