Job Purpose:
We are looking for a Software Localization Engineer, who will be in charge or all technical aspects of the localization process including investigating localization issues and providing technical support to vendors. About The Strategic Solutions Group (SSG)
The Strategic Solutions Group, part of RWS’s Language Services division, works closely with major accounts and clients of all sizes who are going global with specialized localization services. These services cover the entire localization spectrum, from translating content, media, and audio to creating engaging eLearning programs and transcribing highly impactful marketing campaigns. The SSG works closely with RWS’s Language eXperience Delivery (LXD) platform, which includes 2,000 in-house linguists, and a network of more than 29,000 translators, who use RWS’s proprietary machine translation, AI, and translation productivity tools, to deliver a 24/7 service to clients.
Job Overview:

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • Interest in software localization
  • Previous experience working in localization engineering or with localization processes is an advantage
  • Communicative level of English (at least B2 level)
  • Knowledge of standard file formats – HTML, XML
  • Familiarity with the MS Windows platforms
  • Basic programming skills (especially Python) are an advantage
  • Good communicative skills, can-do attitude, team player, willing to learn

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare files needed for localization, hand-offs to vendors and hand-backs from vendors
  • Create or modify processes and tools necessary for localization process
  • Investigate localization issues/bugs and propose or makes fixes
  • Communicate with vendors and provide technical support with CAT tools
  • Create or modify documentation for new or existing processes and tools
  • Create or modify processes, tools and scripts needed for building process
  • Analyze new projects to identify potential engineering related issues
