JOB DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a hands-on Engineering Manager to join its NVR and Appliance product team. In this role, you will guide a dedicated team of Software Developers as you oversee the full development cycle from design to deployment of our unmatched Linux-based video and analytics infrastructure appliances. A successful candidate will have strong technical skills, is decisive and always has a strong point of view for the topic at hand, has excellent project management and communication skills, believes in delivering high quality products, leads, manages and has a motivation to achieve results in a fast-paced environment.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 5+ years of engineering management experience and hands-on technical leadership
  • A successful track record of developing high-performing software teams through hiring, retaining, and mentoring team members.
  • Proven experience with launching successful large scale SW/HW products.
  • Able to work with different levels from team members to Senior Leaders within the organization
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple tasks and changing priorities.
  • Solid foundation in computer science fundamentals and software engineering best practices in an Agile environment
  • BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent experience

PREFERENCE WILL BE GIVEN TO CANDIDATES WITH THE FOLLOWING SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Expertise building and deploying applications in Linux ecosystems
  • Experience in SW/FW design for embedded systems based on x86 and ARM architectures.
  • Experience of working with supply chain and OEM/ODM supplier
  • Hands-on experience and in-depth knowledge of continuous delivery tools and best practices
  • Working Experience with Nvidia Jetson embedded systems.
  • Working Experience with the Yocto Project, a custom linux distro framework
  • Understanding of IP networking topologies
  • Understanding of computer peripheral standards and architectures, including SATA, SAS, PCIe, DP, HDMI, RAID, SAN/NAS, etc.
    This position is based in Vancouver, BC and the candidate must reside in the Greater Vancouver Area as you will be required to go into the office on a hybrid work schedule.
    The base salary range for this position in British Columbia is 125,000 - 145,000 CAD.
