About the role
Kyriba is welcoming a detail-oriented Software Procurement Manager to take the helm of our software acquisition strategy. This role is not just about procuring software; it’s about ensuring that every software purchase is fully utilized, aligns with our evolving needs, and is acquired through the most advantageous channel, be it direct purchase, reseller, or cloud marketplace. The ideal candidate will possess a keen ability to manage vendor relations, negotiate contracts, and optimize software licensing to meet our dynamic requirements.
Essential duties and responsibilities
- Centralized Procurement Authority: Act as the single point of contact for all software procurement requests, ensuring a streamlined approach to buying and managing software licenses. This includes being the sole purchase order (PO) requestor to prevent redundant or unaligned software purchases.
- Vendor Relationship Management: Forge and maintain strategic relationships with SaaS vendors, managing all aspects from performance evaluation to contract renewal, ensuring we get competitive pricing and timely delivery of products.
- Strategic Negotiation and Contract Management: Leverage strong negotiation skills to secure favorable terms with vendors, and perform thorough contract reviews and cost analyses to maximize value from our software investments.
- Software Usage Optimization: Collaborate with our IT team to implement and manage systems for monitoring software utilization across the organization. Regularly review software usage to align licenses with actual needs, identifying opportunities to reduce costs by reallocating or terminating underutilized licenses.
- Market Research and Vendor Sourcing: Continuously scout for new SaaS vendors and procurement channels, assessing the benefits of direct purchases vs. reseller or cloud marketplace options to ensure cost-efficiency and operational alignment.
- Procurement Support: participate occasionally in procurement processes in other categories, support the team in drafting policies, procedures and process optimisation.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams to understand evolving software requirements and ensure the procurement strategy supports these needs effectively.
- Compliance and Risk Mitigation: Maintain vigilant compliance with legal and regulatory standards, proactively managing risks associated with software procurement.
