The Role
We are looking for a talented Software Quality Engineer to join our Subsurface Science Engineering software quality team.
Our QE team members are responsible for testing scientific applications in the Oil and Gas exploration and production domain. This includes manual algorithm testing, functional Testing, UI testing and Automation.
In this role, you will be responsible for analyzing the functionality of scientific applications, designing automated tests, executing them and monitoring the tests results to validate the software performance.
This is an opportunity to play an important role in cutting-edge transformation by validating existing and the next generation products from Aspen Technology.
Your Impact
- Get familiar with advanced scientific software and be able to identify user test cases.
- Identify software application weaknesses.
- Monitor tests results, create test reports and maintain existing test cases.
- Understand product features requirement, and then develop and execute manual test cases to ensure test coverage and product quality.
- Understand customer requirements, be creative in identifying product defects, and collaborate with developers to track defects until resolution.
- Collaborate with a Products organization (Development, Quality, Product Management, Documentation) located across the world.
What You’ll Need
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Geology, Reservoir Engineering, Reservoir Modeling, Petroleum Engineering, or other related discipline.
- 2-5 years of experience working in the Oil and Gas industry.
- Programming knowledge in Python, JavaScript, TypeScript- Advantage.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (in English).
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Strong analytics skills and attention to details.
- Strong organizational skills.
