Description:

The Red Hat Cloud Engineering team is looking for a Quality Software Engineer to join us in Waterford, Ireland. In this role, you will contribute to the development, testing, documentation and customer support for our Red Hat OpenStack product current software releases. You will also contribute to one or more OpenStack projects with a focus on the delivery and improvement of our Red Hat releases for customers. You will join a team of software developers and work on a variety of innovative technologies and open source projects. As a Quality Software Engineer, you will become part of a distributed team collaborating on open source software and communicating with other team members and community developers, as well as working on your own. Red Hat is looking for people that are passionate about modern software development, continuous improvement, and open source.

What you will do

  • Develop, maintain, and write software and automated tests for one or more OpenStack projects
  • Help deliver and improve our shipping Red Hat OpenStack releases
  • Contribute to the the quality and success of our Red Hat’s offerings and the open source communities that serve as our foundation
  • Contribute to the writing and review of customer documentation
  • Deliver software and support for Red Hat OpenStack Cloud offering
  • Engage and assist in the resolution of software issues both internally and from external customers

What you will bring

  • Experience developing in Python programming is highly desirable
  • Experience using Linux and debugging Linux environments is highly desirable
  • Experience in the following technologies: Ansible, Kubernetes, Docker/podman
  • Passion for solving problems, continuous improvement, teamwork and open communication
  • Comfortable working with a distributed remote international team
  • Good written and verbal communication skills in English
  • The following is considered a plus: Expereince with OpenShfit/Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL)
