Job Summary: The Software Scientist I PT develops, maintains, and extends software components and features for a variety of products on a part-time basis. Writes well designed, testable, and efficient software.
Additional Department Summary: Supports the Institute for Social Sciences Researches new driving simulator. Assists in the design and development of driving simulator scenarios using customized software developed by Real Time Technologies Inc. Works independently and collaboratively with the research team to identify goals and objectives of various research studies. Travels as needed for project implementation and testing.
Required Department Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or IT field and some experience with driving simulators or other simulation software.
Skills and Knowledge: Proficient in programming and software development. Strong problem-solving skills. Ability to troubleshoot technical issues effectively. Excellent communication and teamwork skills. Ability to work independently.
Preferred Qualifications: Familiarity with programming languages (Python, C++, JavaScript, and MATLAB).
