You will be an integral part of the OZ Software Leadership Team as well as developing and maintaining best practices, technical leadership and coaching to drive high performance within OZ Games Studio and across software within D&D Australia.

Responsibilities:

  • As a Software Team Manager you will bring considerable technical and functional expertise to deliver effective formulation and implementation of Software design, testing strategies and software quality assurance strategy
  • Provide technical leadership and people management to the Software Engineering team.
  • Identify and reduce potential bottlenecks to ensure maximum team utilisation on new project initiatives.
  • To work across the full Software Development lifecycle, from requirements analysis, design, build, test and implementation of a number of application development projects.
  • Manage and lead the Software team testing, quality assurance team in all day-to-day operational.
  • Lead the team in the consultation process for Projects, Incidents, Defects, Release Management, Change Control and the Testing lifecycle.
  • Ensure appropriate response to Incidents and defects and manage the communications between the team and the rest of the stakeholders.
  • Write and maintain operational practice, procedure and training manuals.
  • Be the escalation point for all matters relating to the software development, software testing and quality assurance.
  • Perform structured and ad hoc reporting for all matters relating to the software operational teams including, dashboards, Incident Reports, Defects, Software Quality Reports, Dashboard reports, Board Reports, progress and status reports, staff performance reporting and general request fulfilment reports.
  • Ensure the software teams validates requirements, manage internal and external stakeholder expectations, estimate deliverables, plan and execute software development and testing tasks using an appropriate software methodology, testing framework, perform risk analysis and mitigation to prevent delivery slippage so that software products are delivered on time, to agreed cost and quality.
  • Cascade business expectations around Aristocrat wide D&D initiatives and ensure line of slight is maintained throughout the entire software development process for all key stakeholders.
  • Coach and correct behaviours and/or practices that are the cause or could lead to poor performance.
  • Lead/Contribute to the maintenance, improvement, introduction of software testing and quality assurance best practices, automation, processes and tools including items such as coding standards, code reviews, requirements analysis, gap analysis, test automation.
  • Drive processes and deliverables as required including maintaining public knowledge portals that can also be used to assist other teams to complete assigned tasks.
  • Develop capability improvement plans for all studio software team leads in line with the company’s technology strategy.
  • Perform team administration as required such as KPO setting and review, individual development plans, timesheet accuracy and completion.
