Description:

Moffatt & Nichol and specializes in large complex waterfront infrastructure projects and is recognized as one of the worldwide leaders in this field. We are actively looking for a Software Technical Writer to join our NextPort software team. As part of the Software Technical Group, the Software Technical Writer will be a versatile writer with the ability to translate complex technical solutions into user-friendly content. Leverages this expertise to craft compelling training and marketing materials that are both informative and engaging. Creates clear, comprehensive documentation and training resources, ensuring end users can fully understand and utilize the product. Distills key product features and benefits into succinct, impactful messaging for marketing collateral such as product summaries, data sheets, and promotional materials, enhancing the product’s marketability and appeal.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, English, Communications or related area; required
  • Proven experience as a technical writer in a software or technology environment; required
  • Strong ability to translate technical concepts into user-friendly documentation; required
  • Proficiency in using documentation tools and graphic software; required
  • Experience creating training materials, including presentations and video content; required
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Experience working cross-functionally with engineers, graphic designers, and marketing team; required
  • All new hires will be required to successfully complete and pass a pre-employment (post offer) background check in compliance with NIST 800-171

BASE SALARY RANGE:

$121,959 to $149,061 based on years of experience, level of education obtained, professional registration, and meeting required qualification in job description.
Base salary range only applicable for candidates who will be hired and working in the New York City markets.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Sedentary for prolonged period of time, interact with clients, and travel occasionally.

  • Documentation Creation: Write clear, comprehensive, and accurate user documentation by translating complex engineering material into easily digestible content for end users
  • Visual Aids: Collaborate with the Corporate Graphics Department to create intuitive diagrams, infographics, and other visual aids that simplify complex technical concepts
  • Content Consistency: Ensure consistency across all documentation by adhering to standardized templates, language, and terminology, making information cohesive and easily navigable
  • Organized Structure: Develop and maintain structured documentation that allows users to quickly find the information they need, improving usability and accessibility
  • Training Materials: Produce well-designed training decks and create how-to videos to facilitate user understanding and product adoption.
  • Marketing Collaboration: Leverage your deep understanding of technical solutions to enhance existing marketing content, highlighting compelling key features, business benefits, and overall value propositions
