Description:

Purple Wave is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Software Test Coordinator to join our growing team. This senior-level role plays a pivotal role in ensuring the quality of our software products across multiple teams and departments overseeing feature function testing and identifying test coverage gaps across our entire application suite. As a remote work eligible position, you will support test planning for the application suite by developing and prioritizing test cases across all teams collaborating with developers, product owners, and other testers to define, implement, and manage our comprehensive testing strategy. The Software Test Coordinator is a strategic leader within Purple Wave’s testing practice. You will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the end to end software testing life cycle, working across product teams, and departments to ensure consistent and effective testing practices.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • 5+ years of experience in software testing, with at least 1 year in a senior or lead testing role.
  • Proven experience in collaborating across teams and departments to define and implement a testing strategy.
  • Strong understanding of software development lifecycles (SDLC) and Agile methodologies.
  • In-depth experience with manual and automated testing techniques.
  • Proficiency in test automation frameworks and tools (e.g., Selenium, Selenium Grid, JMeter, etc.).
  • Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Java, Python) for test automation.
  • Strong understanding of SQL for querying and manipulating databases for testing purposes.
  • Demonstrated ability in regression testing, performance testing (load testing, stress testing), and test case prioritization.
  • Experience with Github and Github Actions.
  • Experience with Docker and Kubernetes is a plus.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects, and work independently while also effectively leading and mentoring others.
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt to changes in technology and embrace a continuous learning mindset.

Responsibilities:

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Strategic Planning & Collaboration:
  • Partner with product managers and developers to define testing requirements and develop comprehensive test plans aligned with product roadmaps.
  • Facilitate communication and collaboration between different teams (Product, Development, QA) throughout the software development lifecycle (SDLC).
  • Stay up-to-date on industry best practices and testing methodologies, proactively suggesting improvements to our testing strategy.
  • Test Case Design & Automation:
  • Design and develop test cases covering various functionalities, user workflows, and edge cases.
  • Champion the adoption and implementation of test automation frameworks and tools to improve testing efficiency and coverage.
  • Work closely with QA Testers to identify opportunities for test automation and provide guidance on scripting best practices.
  • Test Execution & Management:
  • Coordinate and oversee the execution of manual and automated test suites across different environments.
  • Analyze test results, identify defects, and work with developers to ensure timely resolution.
  • Monitor test execution metrics and report on test coverage, defect trends, and overall test effectiveness.
  • Process & Knowledge Sharing:
  • Develop and maintain test documentation, including test plans, test case repositories, and defect tracking processes.
  • Foster a culture of knowledge sharing within the testing team by conducting training sessions and mentoring junior QA testers.
  • Stay informed of emerging testing tools and technologies, evaluating their potential benefit and implementing them when appropriate.
  • Collaboration with Global Test Team:
  • Communicate testing requirements and priorities to the global team in a clear and concise manner.
  • Facilitate knowledge transfer between Purple Wave and external teams regarding the application functionalities and testing context.
  • Review automated test scripts developed by the external teams and report any discrepancies to the appropriate parties for resolution.
  • Communication and Reporting:
  • Maintain clear communication channels between Purple Wave product teams, testers, and our external QA team.
  • Regularly report on the status of test automation efforts to the Purple Wave Sponsor and our external QA partner.
