Frontier Science is looking for a Software Test Engineer to join their growing team to assist in the creation of software for the medical clinical trials industry. At Frontier Science, we value collaboration and innovation. Since 1975, we have been providing accurate and cost-effective data management, statistical and other support services to research networks, pharmaceutical companies and investigators in clinical trials to support studies across the globe.
Location: This position will be based out of our Amherst, NY office, but consideration will be made for a full-time remote employee.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• A solid understanding of software engineering concepts and relational database concepts
• Familiarity with developing automated tests and utilizing automated testing tools
• Familiarity with UNIX, Windows, and SQL
• BA/BS in Computer Science or a related field or an AA/AS in Computer science or a related field with at least 3 years of related experience

Contingent on a candidate’s education, experience and knowledge, they may be offered the position of Software Test Engineer or Software Test Engineer II. The salary ranges for these respective positions are as follows:

• Software Test Engineer: $45,000 - $55,000
• Software Test Engineer II: $56,000 - $65,000

• Participate in all aspects of testing including functional, regression, and exploratory to ensure software meets requirements and established procedures
• Design, develop, and execute manual and automated test scripts
• Identify and track defects utilizing the software issue tracking system
• Generate and maintain testing documentation as specified by the software development lifecycle
• Refine the quality processes to help ensure successful software development
• Attend daily standup meetings and report progress and impediments
• Rely on direct supervision, instructions, and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job
• Provide regular status updates to supervisor
• Other duties as assigned
