JOB SUMMARY
Join Thermo Fisher Scientific as a Software Test Engineer II and make a significant impact on the quality and reliability of our software and systems within the Flow Cytometry group. You will be responsible for developing and implementing test protocols to confirm system requirements, collaborating closely with software and systems engineering teams. Your valuable expertise will drive the successful launch and marketability of our exceptional products.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Biological, Physical or Natural Sciences, or related field, or equivalent experience
- 1-4 years of professional experience in commercial systems or software testing
- Knowledge or experience with flow cytometry preferred
- Scientific background in biological sciences preferred but not required
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
- Knowledge of Biology or other related science (flow cytometry a plus)
- Working knowledge of automated test tools and their implementation
- Working knowledge of the Ranorex test automation software
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Proven capability to identify and analyze the root cause of defects
- Working knowledge of software testing concepts and systematic testing
- Working knowledge of systems and software integration testing
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows based operating systems
- Emphasizing the importance of considering risks when assessing and sharing test outcomes and issues
- Ability to work independently and lead testing of system components and integrated platforms
- Strong oral, written, and presentation skills
- In-depth knowledge of relevant fields and techniques
Responsibilities:
- Develop a thorough understanding of the software and system requirements
- Create test cases and a test plan based on requirements, specifications, and release schedules
- Review tests, stories, and specifications for testability and provide feedback to the development teams
- Perform test cases and document outcomes throughout the development process
- Identify and log failures for developers to address
- Champion and track resolution of software and system issues
- Document and monitor testing outcomes and establish steps to remedy problems
- Analyze current technologies and improve testing procedures
