Job Details:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Test Team Leader to join our software engineering team in Hamburg, Germany. The Test Team Leader will be responsible for managing the day-to-day activities of the test team, ensuring the quality of our software products, and serving as the primary point of contact between the Test, Project Management, and Software teams. This role will be crucial in driving the continuous improvement of testing processes and ensuring the successful delivery of projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Team Management:
- Lead, mentor, and motivate a team of testers, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment.
- Manage the team’s daily activities, including test planning, execution, and reporting.
- Conduct regular performance reviews and support the professional development of team members.
- Project Coordination:
- Act as the primary point of contact between the Test team, Project Managers, and Software Engineers.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure testing timelines align with project delivery schedules.
- Facilitate communication and ensure transparency of testing progress, challenges, and results.
- Test Strategy and Execution:
- Develop and implement test strategies, plans, and processes to ensure high-quality software deliverables.
- Oversee the execution of functional, regression, and performance testing.
- Ensure the timely identification, documentation, and resolution of software defects.
- Process Improvement:
- Identify opportunities for process improvements within the testing lifecycle.
- Drive initiatives to automate testing processes where appropriate.
- Stay updated on industry best practices and integrate them into the team’s workflows.
Qualifications:
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in software testing, with at least 2 years in a leadership or team lead role.
- Proven experience with various testing methodologies, including manual and automated testing.
- Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologies.
- Skills:
- Excellent leadership and people management skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in test management tools (e.g., JIRA, TestRail) and automation frameworks.
- Excellent communication skills in both English and German, with the ability to convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
