Description:
Miraclon Canada is looking for a talented and motivated Tester to join our dynamic team in a growth focused start-up type environment in Burnaby, BC. As a Tester, you will play a crucial role in ensuring quality delivery of our cutting-edge software solutions as well as support the testing needs for our equipment team for our FLEXCEL NX solution serving the broader Flexographic Printing market. REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:
- Post Secondary technical training or Bachelor’s Degree
- Formal training and/or experience in System Testing of software and firmware operating environments
- A minimum of 3 years’ experience in software or equipment testing environment
- Proactive and adaptive to ensure the team meets their objectives
- Quick learner who takes pride in their work and delivers excellent quality
- Interest and ability to succeed in a small start-up organization
- Experience capturing and reporting bugs in a formal system such as Jira or other reporting system
- Experience in requirements based testing including collaboration with engineering to refine requirements into testable definitions
- Ability to review product operation and generate use cases for operation
- Experience translating both typical and unexpected human behaviours into robust test plans
- Ability to deconstruct use cases into individual tests for execution
- Ability to translate requirements into test cases to ensure desired performance can be achieved in established use cases
- Attention to detail including thorough understanding of the differences between patches, branches and releases
- Ability to modify testing based on the stage of a project, understanding the requirements of a “smoke test” versus a final release
- Ability to switch testing between component testing, system testing and regression testing as required
- Excellent troubleshooting abilities to narrow down an underlying bug or issue
- Demonstrated ability to report testing results effectively
- Good knowledge of Python scripting for executing and maintaining our in-house GUI test automation
- Good knowledge of using Windows and macOS
- Excellent teamwork, and interpersonal skills, and able to interact with diverse technical and non-technical groups, spanning all organizational levels
- Demonstrated ability to work in a collaborative team environment with geographically dispersed individuals.

Responsibilities:
- Test NX Central and TAP in depth with focus on a quality delivery of the next versions of the software from initial requirements drafting to stable product release.
- Motivated to learn the full functionality and technology of the existing products
- Establish detailed product test requirements by translating marketing requirements and functional needs
- Automate testing where possible.
- Hands-on software and equipment testing of Miraclon’s FLEXCEL NX system
- Support the engineering team in unit and full scale performance testing.
- Support environmental media assessment on the FLEXCEL NX systems
- Ensure that use cases are developed outlining the various ways customers will use the product and ensure these are used in design verification and testing
- Ensure that appropriate unit testing is carried out and test plans are defined for assuring outstanding product quality
- Ensure proper documentation of test results
- Participate in monthly iteration review and planning sessions.
