Here’s how a Solar Analyst for our Solar Canada office contributes to our team:

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Degree or diploma in engineering, mathematics, statistics, data science or applicable technical discipline
  • Preferably 5+ years’ experience with complex solar design and performance testing
  • Experience with programming languages and MS Office; in particular, EXCEL and Word are considered essential. Knowledge of Power BI and AI or machine learning concepts is an asset.
  • Ability to understand electrical diagrams and drawings such as SLDs and schematics
  • Experience with technical report writing
  • Excellent analytical thinker with a passion for challenges and problem solving
  • Strong organizational skills, high level of detail orientation and ability to multitask and prioritize conflicting and tightdeadlines
  • Ability to problem solve and check own work and that of others for accuracy and completeness
  • Ability to develop and maintain effective stakeholder relationships and present technical material to various audiences
  • Strong willingness and ability to self-learn and stay current with changing technology
  • Ability to provide technical guidance and mentoring to internal stakeholders

Responsibilities:

  • Monitors and reviews analytics tools to analyze and interpret performance on solar projects for correctness and trend
  • Reports to commissioning and field staff all irregularities in data, monitoring trends in project performance and proactivelyidentifying potential issues
  • Communicates results through technical reports and other published data, such as performance test results and capacity, yield and performance ratio test scores
  • Establishes new systems and processes and look for opportunities to improve analytics tools
  • Coordinates with manufacturers and SCADA suppliers and interprets a variety of technical documentation
  • Supports estimating with preconstruction efforts (e.g. design consultation, constructability review, project planning)
  • Models proposed contract language with existing data and provides risk analysis
  • Assists with designing, reviewing and/or validating solar facility layouts relative to RFP documents using/creating plans,specifications, and other information
  • Ensures continued awareness of the renewables market and on-going innovation
