Description:

STARTING SALARY DEPENDENT ON EXPERIENCE - INCREMENTAL PROGRESSION SUBJECT TO PERFORMANCE

Are you an enthusiastic and committed adult social care solicitor looking for a new challenge? If so we would love to hear from you!
We are looking for experienced adult social care solicitors to join our successful and well-respected legal team. This is a dynamic, challenging, yet incredibly rewarding role, where you can make a real contribution to achieving better outcomes for Solihull’s vulnerable adult population.
You will be one of a team of dedicated solicitors providing legal advice and assistance on a wide range of issues relating to adult social care. You will conduct court proceedings and provide advice on specific cases, provide advice on procedural and policy matters and will be expected to attend court, negotiate, and conduct your own advocacy, as appropriate.
To be successful in the role you will be a qualified Solicitor, Barrister or Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives (preferably a Legal Executive Advocate) entitled to practice, OR a part-qualified Legal Executive who can commit to achieving qualification within 6 months of appointment.

You will have:

  • detailed understanding and practical experience of the law relating to Adults as well as Court of Protection protocols and procedures.
  • The motivation to deliver a client focused, high quality legal service
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
  • The ability to work collaboratively with a proactive approach to problem solving

In return we can offer a friendly and supportive team, and manageable and varied caseloads. You will also receive professional development and the support you need to succeed in reaching your full potential.

We also offer:

  • Generous leave entitlement (which rises with continuing service), including the potential for flexi leave up to 24 days per year.
  • The opportunity to buy up to 10 additional days annual leave per year.
  • A range of flexible and agile working options.
  • Family and Carer friendly policies.
  • Attractive staff discounts and benefits.
  • Access to our Employee Assistance Programme – a 24 hour independent, free and confidential advice and support service.
  • A career average pension scheme.

If you share our enthusiasm for providing client focused and seamless services that will enhance the wellbeing of the community – and you’re excited about the challenges that you’ll be exposed to – then we’d love to discuss your prospects in this welcoming department.
We have recently adopted our smarter ways of working model which for this post will involve hybrid working - a combination of working from home and from our offices and venues in Solihull and Birmingham. While your geographical location isn’t important, you must be able to be able to travel to Solihull offices and court as and when required to fulfil the needs of the service.
To apply, please click through to our application portal where you will be asked to upload a CV and supporting statement, clearly outlining how you meet the essential criteria as per the job description and person specification attached.
