Addisons is seeking a self-motivated and collegiate Environment & Planning Solicitor. This is a fantastic opportunity to work on a variety of development projects. The team advises private and public sector clients on all aspects of environment, planning, compulsory acquisition and administrative law. Our client base ranges from large blue-chip companies to smaller privately owned entities.
Responsibilities:
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
- Supporting and working with partners and the senior lawyers in the team in meeting clients’ objectives and deadlines
- Legislation and case law research
- Drafting advices and planning agreements
- Assisting in the day to day conduct of litigation matters, including Class 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 Land and Environment Court proceedings and Supreme Court proceedings
- Providing advice and representation to clients in obtaining and implementing planning and environmental approvals.
TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THE ROLE, YOU WILL HAVE:
- Solid academic results
- Admission to practice as an Australian lawyer and a current practising certificate
- At least two years PQE in environment and planning law (preferred)
- A genuine interest in environmental and planning law
- Proficient drafting and analytical abilities
- Familiarity with the litigation processes of the Land and Environment Court and/or Supreme Court, or a willingness to acquire this knowledge
- A common sense approach to problem solving and delivering practical solutions
- Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills
- An ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- The motivation to further grow and develop your legal skills
- A positive, enthusiastic, collaborative, and proactive mindset.
