Addisons is seeking a self-motivated and collegiate Environment & Planning Solicitor. You will have the opportunity to work on diverse and interesting matters, with continuous learning and development opportunities from esteemed senior practitioners who are widely recognised in their field, within a supportive and collaborative team.
This is a fantastic opportunity to work on a variety of development projects. The team advises private and public sector clients on all aspects of environment, planning, compulsory acquisition and administrative law. Our client base ranges from large blue-chip companies to smaller privately owned entities.

Responsibilities:

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Supporting and working with partners and the senior lawyers in the team in meeting clients’ objectives and deadlines
  • Legislation and case law research
  • Drafting advices and planning agreements
  • Assisting in the day to day conduct of litigation matters, including Class 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 Land and Environment Court proceedings and Supreme Court proceedings
  • Providing advice and representation to clients in obtaining and implementing planning and environmental approvals.

TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THE ROLE, YOU WILL HAVE:

  • Solid academic results
  • Admission to practice as an Australian lawyer and a current practising certificate
  • At least two years PQE in environment and planning law (preferred)
  • A genuine interest in environmental and planning law
  • Proficient drafting and analytical abilities
  • Familiarity with the litigation processes of the Land and Environment Court and/or Supreme Court, or a willingness to acquire this knowledge
  • A common sense approach to problem solving and delivering practical solutions
  • Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills
  • An ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • The motivation to further grow and develop your legal skills
  • A positive, enthusiastic, collaborative, and proactive mindset.
