Description:

JOB AND KEY ACTIVITIES

Responsible for case file monitoring on a day to day basis and to ensure efficient and effective case management with the assistance of the Head of Department and other fee earners.
To take initial instructions from the client.
To attend and liaise with clients throughout the process of the claim.
To correspond with Third Party Insurers both at the outset of the claim and during negotiations to settle.
To interview witnesses where necessary.
Obtain and consider medical records and police reports.
To correspond with medical experts when necessary and consider any reports provided.
Use case research skills and existing guidelines to value relatively low value claims.
To correspond with Counsel, Court and other agencies as and when necessary
To prepare and consider legal documents such as Letters of Claim, Schedule of Special Damages, Witness Statements, Court Proceedings, Affidavits and other relevant documentation.
To prepare instructions to Counsel to advise on Quantum or Merits.
To attend straight forward Court hearings as and when necessary.
To research and advise on relevant aspects of the law.
To keep up to date with relevant developments in the law through training and other sources when appropriate.
To conduct clients’ legal affairs in a manner, which is expeditious, cost effective and profitable and in conjunction with JIVA’s Guidelines
To manage case files in accordance with JIVA’s Guidelines

SUMMARY

As an Industrial Deafness Solicitor / Fee Earner, you will be instrumental in representing clients who have suffered hearing loss due to workplace conditions. Reporting to the Head of Department, your role involves providing expert legal advice, managing case files, and advocating for client rights. You will utilize core skills in legal research and client communication, while your premium skills in negotiation and litigation will enhance your effectiveness in securing favorable outcomes. Your relevant skills in personal injury law and client relationship management will be vital in delivering exceptional service and achieving justice for your clients.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Qualified solicitor with experience in industrial deafness claims
  • Strong understanding of personal injury law and relevant legislation
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Proven track record in managing a caseload effectively
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Relevant certifications in personal injury or occupational health law
  • Previous use of Proclaim
    Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
    Pay: £30,000.00-£40,000.00 per year

Responsibilities:

To develop, organise and provide effective client care and management of your case load, as designed and supervised by the Head of Department, ensure that the objective (s) and/or needs of the client(s) are secured within the criteria determined by JIVA Solicitors Limited, The Law Society and the Legal Services Commission’s Statutory and Professional requirements
To liaise between the clients, Head of Department, other fee earners and interested parties to ensure completion of work to the highest standards of quality within time limits and specifications and/or the Finance Manager in accordance with the JIVA guidelines
To ensure that all management procedures are adhered to in accordance with the JIVA.
To market the business at all times at a corporate, team and individual level.
To report to the Head of the Industrial Disease Department in the first instance.
To report to the Partners as and when required.
