Description:

As part of the Design and Engineering Team, the SolidWorks Designer/drafter will be responsible for the creation of technical blueprints, drawings and models for a variety of sheet metal components, equipment, manufacturing and assembly. As the SolidWorks Designer/drafter you will work to create working instructions for our products that include product details, guidelines, information regarding materials, specific measurements and procedures.
Responsibilities:
- Design/drafting of sand blasting equipment using SolidWorks on daily basis
- Update and revise 3D modeling and 2D drawings on changes needed by Engineer
- Create manufacturing detail and assembly drawings using SolidWorks
- Create general and sign off drawing on custom designs
- Review design details and flag questions, conflicts or any inconsistencies
- Ensure that all designs comply with industry standards and specifications.
- Maintain accurate documentation of all design changes and revisions.
- Adhere to all Company policies and procedures
- Comply with all Health & Safety related policies, procedures, and safe work practices
- Other duties as assigned
- College Diploma or University Degree preferably in Engineering
- Proficiency in SolidWorks software and 3D modeling techniques is a must
- Good understanding of engineering principles and technical drawings
- Attention to detail and accuracy in creating and modifying designs
- Knowledge of detailed calculations using basic engineering principles such as material density, structural calculations, mechanical movement is an asset
- CSWP or CSWA Certification is an asset
- Extensive knowledge of sheet metal design parameters, laser, punching and bending processes
- Extensive mechanical knowledge
- Proficient in both metric and imperial dimensioning
- Experience or Knowledge of SolidWorks PDM professional or file management system
- Knowledge of 2D AutoCAD is an asset
Experience using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint etc.
