Description:
THE TEAM
The role sits within the Architecture function of the Technology and Data division and works within APRA’s architecture and technical governance frameworks.
Day to day the solution architect will work as part of a new program team that will be assembled to transition APRA to a single regulatory data collection system. This involves the migration of approximately 150 regulatory returns to a new collection platform without compromising our ability to produce data extracts, reports and publications. The team will include internal APRA staff and external partners who will assist with parts of the technical delivery.
Key stakeholders include the CIO, Head of Enterprise Architecture, Head of Technology for Data Delivery, and Head of Central Services. Other key stakeholders across the organisation will include the Executive Director for Technology and Data, Chief Security Officer, Chief Data Officer and the Chief Risk Officer.
Responsibilities:
THE ROLE
Reporting to the Head of Enterprise Architecture, this role will seek to understand and consolidate APRA’s data collection capabilities into a single platform and enable the decommission of several legacy data management and reporting systems. This complex piece of work requires the design of transitionary states in the architecture, ensuring data integrity and continuity of service to business stakeholders. The critical aspects of the role are as follows:
- Assist in the documentation of the features and functions of each component within the current architecture (including SQL databases, SAS cubes and various ETL procedures)
- Devise a migration strategy that facilitates the decommission of APRA’s current submission portal (D2A), Operational Data Stores and SAS reporting objects
- Ensure critical workloads are effectively directed to APRA’s new data platform (Databricks on Azure)
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Defining the as is and target state architecture. Defining the roadmap of technical change and transition states needed to achieve the target state whilst allowing APRA to collect, analyse and publish data as usual throughout the period of change
- Assisting with defining the work packages, risks, estimates and resource plan to deliver the program of change
- Communicating the roadmap to senior stakeholders and industry to secure understanding and support. Working with third party vendors to contract the technical solution
- Supporting internal and external project assurance of the proposed architecture and transition states through documentation and design review
- Support internal Technology and Data teams throughout the change with technical advice and guidance
- Ensure adherence to APRA’s IT governance policies, technical standards and procedures throughout delivery. Ensure designs are reviewed and incorporated into the Enterprise Architecture
