emagine is looking for a skilled Solution Architect to provide short-term support for the client’s P&O Data Hub (20 hours per week). The Data Hub, built on AWS S3, DBT, and Snowflake, is currently populated with HR data and has one active Data Product, with more to follow in Q4. As the client seeks a permanent Solution Architect, you will cover this gap by providing day-to-day guidance to Data Engineers and developing a long-term strategy, including a migration plan from Snowflake to Databricks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop the P&O Data Hub strategy, outlining both short- and long-term milestones
- Create a comprehensive plan for migrating from Snowflake to Databricks
- Provide architectural and solution guidance to the team on a day-to-day basis
- Engage in hands-on work, including platform maintenance and creating a test strategy if needed
Required Skills and Experience:
- Extensive experience with AWS S3, Snowflake, Databricks, and DBT
- Proven track record in designing and delivering data solutions and data platform architecture in cloud environments (AWS/Azure)
- Experience with DevOps, DataOps, CI/CD, unit-testing, and version control to lead and optimize team collaboration
- Deep technical knowledge of cloud infrastructure in AWS, including Infrastructure as Code (CDK)
- Proficient in Python, Spark, and SQL
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Experience working with GDPR-regulated data, as the role involves handling sensitive employee data
