Description:

Come join FLSmidth Cement IT and contribute to establish the foundation for our Cement business operation in “Pure Play” mode. Aligned with the GREEN’26 Cement strategy, FLSmidth is set to have a dedicated Cement business entity, equipped to inject green-tech initiatives into the dynamic global cement market. This Cement business will feature its own dedicated Cement IT function, which is currently in the process of being developed.
We are seeking a highly skilled Solution Architect to support our business and IT stakeholders to deliver cutting-edge engineering solutions and technologies to support our product development and manufacturing processes in our cement business. This role will be pivotal in support our Cement service business growth, managing engineering product management systems, and optimizing manufacturing bill of materials (MBOM) processes, as well as supporting configure, price, quote (CPQ) solutions.
About the job
The Solution Architect - Engineering Solutions is responsible for designing, developing, and implementing integrated solutions across various engineering systems. This role involves collaborating with multiple stakeholders including within business , IT architects and other IT stakeholders to ensure that engineering systems are aligned with business objectives and support the company’s growth and efficiency goals. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with engineering software, strong technical skills, and a deep understanding of engineering and product development processes.

Your Responsibilities

  • Design integrated solutions that support engineering product management, MBOM for manufacturing, service business growth, proposal configurations (CPQ), and ensure seamless integration to other enterprise applications.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive solution architectures for engineering systems such as Enovia, SolidWorks, AutoCAD, CPQ, and others.
  • Work closely with engineering, IT, and business teams to gather requirements and define project scope.
  • Translate business needs into functional and technical specifications for engineering systems.
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to project teams throughout the implementation process.
  • Analyse engineering and manufacturing data to identify trends, issues, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Oversee the customization and configuration of engineering software to meet specific business requirements.
  • Ensure that customizations adhere to best practices and maintain system integrity and performance.
  • Manage the development of custom features and integrations as needed.
  • Develop and execute comprehensive testing plans to ensure the quality and functionality of implemented solutions.
  • Conduct system validation and user acceptance testing (UAT). Identify and resolve any issues or bugs discovered during testing phases.
  • Support with development of training materials and conduct training sessions for end-users and IT staff on engineering systems.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and optimizations within engineering and manufacturing workflows.
  • Foster a culture of innovation by staying current with industry trends and advancements in engineering solutions and technologies.

Your Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, or a related field. Master’s degree or relevant certifications (e.g., TOGAF, PMP) preferred.
  • Proven experience in implementing and managing engineering and product management solutions, with a focus on systems such as PLM (Enovia), CPQ, SolidWorks, AutoCAD, EPLAN, design simulation solutions, etc.,
  • Strong understanding of engineering processes, product lifecycle management (PLM), manufacturing operations, and CPQ processes.
  • Proven experience in solution architecture, system design, and integration.
  • Proficiency in customizing and configuring engineering software.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
