Description:

As an experienced Architect, you will be working with our Finance Teams as a key player in the implementation, upgrading and enhancements of various solutions across the Finance domain.
You will use your technical expertise to lead on the creation of technical artefacts, enabling high quality (technical/business) solutions to be delivered at pace, along with your hands-on experience of ERP, EPM and Finance solutions.
You will be working with Engineering Leads to shape and design solutions, defining non-functional requirements and creating architectural diagrams and patterns.
This role is within the Finance, Risk, HR and Economic Crime technology domain, which is responsible for ensuring our colleagues can make best use of the applications in their day to day, ensuring business systems are fit for purpose.

ABOUT YOU

  • A proven track record in providing architectural leadership, technical security design and delivery of resilient
  • Demonstrable experience in an architecture or engineering practice.
  • A strong technical background (e.g. solution design and development).
  • Providing guidance and solution assurance as part of project governance.
  • Reviewing and approving architectural design and configuration documents as part of ongoing peer review.
  • Participating in proof of concepts to assist in defining technology direction and enabling business strategy.

You’ll have experience in one of the following areas:

  • Experience in Finance systems and/or working with Finance stakeholders.
  • Working in a highly regulated environment and ensuring solutions are compliant.
  • A good understanding of ERP, EPM, Reconciliations, Reporting solutions in the Finance domain. Specifically SAP S/HANA FPSL, Oracle PeopleSoft Financials, AutoRek, Hyperion, Board, QRM and/or SAS.
  • Working with on-Premises and Cloud (e.g. PaaS, SaaS solutions).
  • Networking and Infrastructure security concepts.

Responsibilities:

As a Solution Architect in the Finance technology sub-domain, you will work with the Senior Architect, engineers, business stakeholders and project teams to provide solution design and assurance for in-flight and upcoming projects.

We have an exciting and extensive portfolio of change to manage over the coming years, including but not limited to, implementation of (SAP) sub-ledger accounting, financial consolidation and close, automation of business process, integration with our Data Lakehouse architecture / platform and supporting changes to regulatory reporting.

  • You will support the on-going management of Finance business and technology roadmaps with contributions such as:
  • Ensuring roadmap definitions are completed whilst aligning to best practice guidelines, engineering patterns, and Nationwide standards.
  • Contributing to the creation and ongoing maintenance of architecture and engineering principles, patterns, and standards to reflect best practice and effective use within the organisation.
  • Creation and management of ‘architecturally significant questions’ (ASQ’s)
  • Playing an active role in solution design governance.

You will be using your leadership skills and Subject Matter Expertise knowledge to work with stakeholders and peers to understand and influence how the technical infrastructure deliverables coincide with activities both within and without the team and when required providing designs/solutions to align with engineering principles and architectural strategy.
