FAMILY DESCRIPTION
Applied R&D (AR) consists of target-oriented research either with the goal of solving a particular problem / answering a specific question or for multi-discipline design, development, and implementation of hardware, software, and systems including maintenance support. Supplies techno-economic consulting to clients. AR work is characterised by its detailed and complex nature in order to systematically combine existing knowledge and practices to further developing and incrementally improving products, operational processes, and customer-specific feature development.
SUBFAMILY DESCRIPTION
Integration, Verification & Testing (IVT) comprises the integration of SW and / or HW or system components into system, platform, product releases, or networks and verifies the integrated entity or network against particular requirements and specifications. Covers setup and maintenance of laboratory and associated equipment, tools, and devices.
We are seeking an experienced Solution Architect with deep expertise in 5G Packet Core and Data Management domains to join our our E2E R&D team. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in analyzing business requirements coming from Portfolio Management and creating studies for the future items. At the same time, maintaining architecture documents for 5G Core Engineered Systems. This role requires a blend of strategic thinking, technical expertise, and hands-on integration and verification skills. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, product management to ensure seamless integration of 5G technologies into our rapidly evolving solution.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 8+ years of experience in senior engineer roles, preferably as solution architect, with at least 3-5 years specifically in 5G networks and telecommunications.
- Technical Expertise:
- In-depth understanding of 5G technologies (e.g., RAN, core network, slicing, edge computing, etc.).
- Strong experience with cloud computing, virtualization (NFV), and software-defined networking (SDN).
- Solid understanding of different generations of telecommunication networks (e.g., 2G/3G, 4G, 5G) and Core network domains (e.g., IMS, 3G Core, Packet Core, Data Management)
- Familiarity with orchestration and automation platforms for 5G network deployment.
- Knowledge of security standards and protocols relevant to 5G networks.
- Certifications: Relevant certifications such as AWS/Azure Solution Architect, 5G Network Specialist, or TOGAF are a plus.
- Skills:
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to design innovative solutions for complex challenges.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience in managing multiple projects and working in a fast-paced, agile environment.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to mentor and guide teams.
Responsibilities:
- Solution Design: Lead the design and architecture of end-to-end 5G features that align with business requirements.
- Technical Leadership: Provide technical direction and leadership in the integration of 5G technologies within the existing solution, ensuring scalability, high level of automation, footprint and performance optimization.
- Management Engagement: Work closely with Portfolio Management to understand their business challenges, translate requirements into technical solutions, and present architectural recommendations. Analyze the new requirements and create detailed technical studies when needed to support the stakeholders on decision making.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with internal external teams, including product management, engineering and architect teams of different 5G network functions to ensure the successful implementation and delivery of 5G solutions.
- Innovation & Best Practices: Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies in 5G, automation and cloud domains, and drive continuous improvement and innovation within the R&D.
- Documentation & Compliance: Ensure comprehensive documentation of all architectural designs and adhere to industry standards and regulatory requirements for 5G networks.
