The Solution Consultant is responsible for supporting and enabling sales on VIAVI AMS (Automation & Mobility Solutions) portfolio in Central and East Europe, including the Deutsche Telekom and A1 groups, according to the EMEA Sales plan. The Solution Consultant will work closely with the PLM & Delivery teams to propose the best technical solution in response to VIAVI customer requirements, via direct or indirect sales models. The Solutions Consultant will take responsibility for the solutions presentation and demonstrations in front of customers, writing technical documentation for the projects and work closely with Account Directors to define the sales strategy. In conjunction with Sales, this person will be accountable for the bookings number of the related product portfolio in the whole EMEA region.
The Solution Consultant is responsible for the introduction, implementation, and follow-up of the AMS portfolio in all of EMEA and is expected to be proactive in case of deviation. The Solution Consultant is expected to be the customer’s voice and drive customer issues to successful resolution with the help of PLM, R&D, Support and Engineering departments more globally in the organization.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high level pre-sales technical support to our customer in EMEA on VIAVI Solutions’ AMS portfolio: Geolocation Intelligence, RAN Optimization, Core Network Monitoring, OSS, and AIOps.
  • Be the main technical point of contact for the Deutsche Telekom and A1 groups for the good use and evolution of the currently deployed systems.
  • Deliver product and technology presentations at targeted local roadshows/technical seminars and webinars.
  • Self-motivated in penetrating opportunities and accounts for sales enablement.
  • Deliver awareness of Network Optimization methods and gains to our customer base.
  • Follow-up customers projects implementation and products evolution to suit their strategy.
  • Help discover ecosystem trends and activities as well as optimize product positioning to capture sales.
  • Provide feedback to the Business Units (Product Line Managers/R&D) in order to increase innovation.
  • Share experiences and best practices across the EMEA Solutions Engineer team members.
  • Transfer basics of product and technologies knowledge to Sales/Channel Partners during specific and regular training sessions.
  • Actively participate in the weekly EMEA Solutions Consultants virtual meetings: Feedback on deals, technical inputs, local market needs, challenges, successes, recovery plans, etc.
  • Measurement of progress, gaps and recovery actions when needed.
  • As part of the technical pre-sales team, the Solution Engineer is accountable for driving sales growth in the region for the AMS portfolio.
  • Travel Required: 40% of the time, mainly (but not only) in Eastern and Central Europe.

Pre-Requisites / Skills / Experience Requirements:

  • Telecom, Networking or Electronics Engineer diploma with the Telecom expertise.
  • Proven experience providing pre-sales technical support to Tier 1 Mobile Service Providers.
  • Expertise in RF planning and optimization.
  • Good understanding of E2E network technologies, including fixed technologies (IP, FTTx, DWDM) and Mobile (4G/5G).
  • Good understanding of OSS and network management principles (Inventory, Service Assurance, Automation).
  • Desire to evolve and help foster the products’ vision to best fit our customers’ needs.
  • English and German speaking, business level.
