Description:

The research and development engineer will focus on scaling up and optimizing the solution-based perovskite solar module fabrication.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor or Master’s in Materials Science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Physics, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated expertise in solution-based perovskite synthesis, thin-film deposition, and device fabrication.
  • Experience with solution processing techniques, such as spin coating, slot-die coating, or inkjet printing.
  • Experience with drying processing techniques, air-knifing, VCD and oven annealing.
  • Proficiency in materials and device characterization techniques, including SEM, XRD, UV-Vis, and IV measurement.
  • Strong understanding of perovskite chemistry and degradation mechanisms.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced research environment.

PREFERRED SKILLS:

  • Familiarity with large-area coating processes for scalable production.
  • Experience in tandem solar cells or integration with other photovoltaic technologies.
  • Knowledge of industrial-scale solution processing methods like roll-to-roll fabrication.
  • Proficiency in simulation tools for solar cell design and analysis.

Responsibilities:

  • Material Development: Formulate and optimize perovskite precursor solutions to achieve high-performance thin films with excellent uniformity, crystallinity, and stability.
  • Process Optimization: Develop and refine large area solution-based deposition techniques such as slot-die coating, inkjet printing, and blade coating for scalable production.
  • Device Fabrication: Design and fabricate perovskite solar cells, including single-junction and tandem architectures, using solution-based processes.
  • Characterization: Perform advanced characterization of solution-processed materials and devices, including optical, electrical, and structural analysis using techniques like UV-Vis spectroscopy, SEM, XRD, PL, and IV testing.
  • Stability and Reliability: Investigate degradation mechanisms of solution-processed perovskite layers and develop strategies for improving device stability and reliability under operational conditions.
  • Innovation: Explore new solvents, additives, and processing conditions to enhance performance and scalability of solution-based perovskite materials.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including material scientists, device engineers, and manufacturing teams, to align research outcomes with production goals.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain detailed records of experiments, analyze results, and prepare technical reports, presentations, and publications.
