What You Will Do

  • Builds, manages, and provides leadership to a team of professional staff (may include other managers); performs other talent management and development decisions as needed.
  • Develops and establishes functional strategy and tactics to ensure successful completion of work that meets or exceeds client and/or organizational expectations.
  • Leads resources and takes accountability for the performance and results of multiple related teams.
  • Develops departmental/functional plans, including business unit and/or production priorities, to address resource and operational needs and challenges.
  • Identifies, establishes and maintains relationships with key collaborators, decision-makers and influencers internally and externally.
  • Provides domain expertise to clients, team members, colleagues, etc. on projects.
  • Participates in both internal and external projects that are broad in scope and closely tied to the organizational strategy.
  • Conducts regular status and strategy meetings with internal and external teams to understand risks, priorities, etc. and ensure a successful end result.
  • Evaluates current business processes and systems, ensuring cost-savings and risk control.
  • Coordinates financial and budget activities for maximum operational efficiency.
  • Reviews team and individual performance data (financial, sales and activity reports) to monitor and measure productivity, goal progress and activity levels.
  • Motivates, develops, recruits and retains employees while rewarding and cultivating a culture of high performing teams.
  • Leads QA/Test Analysts in a wide range of quality control tests and analyses to ensure that software meets or exceeds specified standards, development specifications or client requirements.
  • Revises and approves test plans and scripts for others while coaching for improvement; creates test data files with valid and invalid records to thoroughly test program logic and verify system flow.
  • Maintains control over test systems and source code.
  • Plans applicable test phases and ensures that system tests are successfully completed and documented and all problems are resolved. Often asked to solve problems of a complex or non-routine nature.
  • Documents and formalizes the Test/QA procedures, so that the process can continually be reviewed and improved.
  • Revises and approves quality assurance and testing policies, standards and procedures; ensures alignment with global IT strategy and/or development plans.
  • Figures out appropriate quality initiatives to implement during each phase of the system development life cycle.
  • When specializing in QA, oversees the quality of products and processes, including standard procedures and methods.
  • Business Process Improvement roles:
  • Analyzes and measures the effectiveness of existing business processes and develops sustainable and quantifiable business process improvements which impact more than one product or one business with some global applicability.
  • Collects and analyzes process data to make recommendations on improved business practices and procedures and drives sustainable change.
  • Resolves how new information technologies can support reengineering business processes and influences global thinking on NASDAQ business processes

What We Expect

  • Bachelor Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field, or equivalent work experience
  • Experience within QA testing or software development
  • Experience leading or developing a team as well as QA Test program
  • Knowledge in agile test approaches and the software development process
  • Ability to create a test strategy, test plan and test cases
  • Solid understanding of Java and tools such as JIRA, Eclipse, Jenkins and GIT
  • Experience supporting and interacting directly with clients
  • Experience from the financial industry
  • Good knowledge about Exchange Clearing functionalities is meriting

Our work arrangement is hybrid. You will be coming in to the office on 68 Harrington Street in Sydney at least 2 days per week.
