Responsibilities:
What you do and how you do it is really improtant. We are looking for Solution Architects that can bring leadership to our Technology delivery. You will be able to inspire and motivate our business to embrace change, show the “art of the possible” and make an impact in the digital services we develop. You will be experienced in the delivery of change in a large, complex business and have worked within an Enterprise, Solution or Technical Architecture team. You will have a good understanding of the modern IT and technology enablers and have experience in delivering them effectively. You will have a good understanding of how technology is evolving in the IT industry and experience in bringing that knowledge to solve real world problems.
As our next Solutions Architect, you’ll:
- Contribute to the development of an IS strategy for our Nuclear Operations Business
- Support innovation by proposing new solutions and engaging, as required, in approved Proof of Concept activities.
- Work with vendors and third-party analysts to develop a better understanding of relevant technologies, strategies for their use and their commercial benefits.
- Define and maintain Nuclear Operations information system architecture
- Assist with the definition of IS and IT road maps for architecture evolution.
- Work closely with the Solution and Enterprise Architecture Team to create and maintain design standards and ensure that all design solutions comply with those standards.
- Ability to work with business stakeholders to convert business requirements to technical Solutions through effective Solution Design.
- Manage the solution architecture and design for large and complex projects.
- Manages the architecture, preparation and delivery for large projects and engagements
- Act as the Intelligent Customer for solution architecture and design
- Support the Enterprise and Solution Architecture Manager in the role of the Intelligent Customer for solution architecture and design by ensuring that Site Licence compliance and the required quality standard is maintained for all solutions delivered to Nuclear Operations (including those delivered by third parties and within other Business Units or Steering Functions) and ensuring that nuclear safety is the overriding priority.

- Build and cultivate effective relationships with the wider IT community, in EDF Energy and EDF Group to support the alignment and development of wider IT policies, standards and strategies

- Stay fully appraised of industry trends that are relevant to the immediate assignment, and any longer-term practice-driven technical specialisation.
- Experience or knowledge of how to modernise applications and processes using the Azure platform and technologies
- Able to produce high quality and professional presentations
