The Opportunity: Mattel is currently seeking a Test Lead for test environment and test data management, in a manger role, for Testing Center of Excellence (TCOE) in El Segundo, CA. This role will be a member of a dynamic team focused on Standardized & Predictable Test engagement, drive effective utilization of automation skillsets and continuously improve and innovate, developing and enriching QA assets. The TCOE test lead/manager will be involved in driving test engagements across multiple strategic projects ensuring TCOE guidelines are being followed across various phases of testing. This position reports directly into the Director, Operations and Test services. This role is a specialized role focused on managing and architecting test data and environments for software testing purposes within an organization. Their primary responsibility is to design, develop, and maintain test data management strategies, test environment configurations and solutions to support various testing activities across the software development lifecycle. This includes identifying and defining test data requirements, creating and maintaining test data repositories, and implementing data provisioning processes across the enterprise. This individual works closely with testing teams, development teams, and other stakeholders to understand their data needs, ensure data integrity, and work with respective system teams to provide appropriate data sets for testing scenarios. Additionally, they may be involved in implementing data masking, anonymization, or obfuscation techniques to protect sensitive data used across systems. This individual works with system teams to manage the environments across systems in an integrated manner. This person is responsible for designing, and managing the test environments required for software testing within an organization in a meaningful and integrated manner. Their primary role is to ensure that testing activities are conducted in environments that closely mirror the production environment, enabling accurate and reliable testing results. Key responsibilities would include laying framework and collaborating with development teams, testing teams, and other stakeholders to understand their environment requirements and ensure that test environments meet their needs. This also entails driving the environment provisioning processes and tools for provisioning and managing test environments efficiently and effectively, including automation where possible.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:

  • 12+ years relevant experience in Quality Assurance & Testing
  • Proven experience as a Test Environment Manager or in a similar role.
  • Strong understanding of software development and testing processes.
  • Experience with environment management tools and technologies.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices. Experience in Retail or Consumer Products, supporting Oracle products and OCI
  • Proven experience as a Test Data Manager or in a similar role.
  • Strong understanding of data management principles and practices.
  • Experience with test data management tools and technologies.
  • Excellent data analysis and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of data masking and anonymization techniques.
  • Familiarity with Agile and DevOps practices.
  • Experienced in managing quality & metrics, risks/issues, QA Effort estimates, QA Audits, TCOE Tools and Process, Automation Planning
  • Stakeholder management, Integration & Maintenance of TCOE with Operating Model working along with Leadership Team & PMO
  • Drive Delivery Transformation & Innovation, Best practices implementation
  • Experienced in Test Strategizing and Test Planning for large strategic programs
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to clearly communicate and articulate to stakeholders and management across multiple business functions
  • Solid understanding of Functional, Non-Functional, Integration, System, Regression, and End to End testing
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills with the ability to use data and metrics to back up assumptions, recommendations and drive actions
  • A strong passion for quality, an unrelenting attention to detail, and the proven ability to manage multiple competing priorities simultaneously
  • Experience with virtualization and cloud technologies
  • Knowledge of configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Puppet, Chef).
