To make this happen, we are looking for a curious, creative, and motivated candidate to design and support the implementation of solutions we provide. You will be highly proficient in the design and operation of high availability, secure applications in the cloud and on premise, and your enthusiasm and knowledge will inspire others to become equally capable as our portfolio of applications grows.

YOUR TECHNICAL ABILITIES

  • Architecture skills: Understanding principles of good design, architectural frameworks, and tools such as Archi, C4, UML, domain-driven design, and a solid understanding of SDLC.
  • Integration patterns: API architecture and design to enable integrations between internal and external systems and components, including OO, MQTT, Event-Driven, Pub-Sub, and Data Transfer.
  • Experience with secure-by-design and design for reliability approaches, including familiarity with OWASP, ISO/IEC 27001, NCSC & NIST (principles: identify, protect, detect, respond, and recover)
  • Experience with cloud (AWS) and creating systems from scratch in these environments.
  • Understanding/experience of the different types of architecture e.g. Microservices/Monolith/Event Driven
  • Data (ingestion, integration, security, lifecycle management): Change Data Capture (CDC), ETL (Extract, Transform, Load), real-time and low-latency data processing, data intelligence.

Responsibilities:

You will be responsible for a range of activities, including but not limited to:

  • Responsibility for the architecture and design of one of our products that support the GB rail operations.
  • Work with alongside our product development teams to implement the design.
  • Identify suitable patterns and designs to build products to provide reliability and affordability for our customers.
  • Work closely with business leads and product owners to understand solution requirements.
  • Work closely with lead architects and engineers to create and maintain architectural templates and build/operational documents.
  • Support our technical teams design and implement for infrastructure provision, releases, and pipelines.
  • Support the upskilling of technical and business team members.
