Description:
- Train staff on various wine-handling techniques, including presenting, opening, decanting, and serving.
- Instruct staff on the proper maintenance of drinkware and beverage equipment.
- Educate staff on articulating different wine categories.
- Guide staff in effectively using Point of Sales (POS) systems for beverage orders.
- Assist staff in managing customer queries.
- Coach staff on recommending appropriate wine and food pairings to customers.
- Engage with customers to evaluate their satisfaction and enhance their experience.
- Ensure staff adherence to customer service standards through regular inspections.
- Analyze customer feedback to identify gaps in service delivery.
- Oversee the execution of customer loyalty initiatives.
- Conduct audits to ensure staff compliance with alcohol handling and consumption regulations.
- Perform audits on staff adherence to the organization’s hygiene and food safety standards.
- Audit compliance with the organization’s food waste management procedures.
- Ensure staff follow the organization’s Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) policies.
- Plan staff schedules according to operational needs.
- Guide staff through opening, operating, and closing shifts.
- Conduct daily sales reconciliations.
- Implement strategies to meet sales targets.
- Monitor inventory levels to ensure adequate supplies.
- Assist in coordinating crisis response and recovery efforts according to business continuity policies.
- Provide on-the-job training and evaluate the performance of subordinates.
- Assist in interviewing candidates as part of the recruitment process.
- Collect data for process improvement reviews to assess the effectiveness of work procedures.
- Suggest and implement continuous improvement initiatives within the team.
- Train staff on the use of emerging technologies and tools to boost productivity.
REQUIREMENTS:
- At least 1 year of experience in a restaurant or wine-focused role.
- Strong problem-solving and customer service skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Willingness to work during peak hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Advanced education or certification in wine studies (CMS or WSET) is a plus but not required.
