SELVA - “ANOTHER NAME FOR THE AMAZON, THE LUNGS OF THE EARTH"
We are looking for a passionate and knowledgeable Sommelier to join our team. As a Sommelier, you will be responsible for every aspect of the wine service, ranging from the creation of the wine list to storytelling for our guests at the table. Together with the Head Chef and his/her culinary team, you will create the right food and wine pairings, which always happens behind the scenes!

Inspired by tropical Amazon, the flavors of Latin America, and co-created by nhow Amsterdam, Selva restaurant is located on the 24th floor of nhow hotel in Amsterdam RAI. The Sonora cocktail bar and the Saffron meeting spaces complement this amazing rooftop restaurant with 140 seats and 360° views of the city of Amsterdam. The Sonora bar, the Selva service and kitchen teams count 40+ team members are very engaged, spirited, and international.
APPLY NHOW IF YOU MEET THE FOLLOWING REQUIREMENTS:
- Previous experience as a sommelier, managing wine stock;
- Accredited sommelier certificate;
- Passion for wine and drinks in general;
- Proven track of engaging the restaurant team in wine (e.g. wine-pairing, upselling, training);
- Ambitious to learn and develop whilst on job;
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays;
- Pleasant, positive, and open attitude.

YOU WILL ALSO BE RESPONSIBLE FOR:
- Delivery of wine service to the guests;
- Training the wait staff;
- Managing wine stock inventory;
- Keeping wine stocks under control;
- Wine menu development;
- Costing/margins management.
