Responsibilities:

THE ROLE

The job is for a full-time Sommelier at a prestigious venue in London. The role involves ensuring high-quality service, capable to manage a wine station, in the dining areas during lunch and dinner. The ideal candidate should be passionate about beverage products, food and customer service and be a team player. This full-time role will be required to work 40 hours per week (three split shifts, and two straight shifts), Monday to Friday, with shifts between 10 am and 3 pm and 6 pm and 11 pm. There are opportunities for extra hours at private and special Club events.

REQUIREMENTS FOR THE ROLE:

  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience as a Sommelier, ideally in a fine dining environment
  • Qualified to WSET level 3 or equivalent
  • Extensive knowledge of grape varieties, wine regions, wine-producing countries and food and wine pairing
  • A genuine passion to learn about wine and its relationship with food
  • Exceptional communication skills and a good level of spoken and written English
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with proven ability to work collaboratively

TYPICAL DUTIES WILL INCLUDE:

  • Provide expert wine recommendations to our guests, enhancing their dining experience.
  • Capable to manage a wine station
  • Ensure glassware and mis en place are maintained at the highest standard
  • Opening and closing duties, including requisition, setting up necessary supplies and tools, cleaning all equipment
  • Organising and cleaning storage areas
  • Introducing the wines by the glass selection to the floor team
  • Committed to attend one hour per week on for Sommelier meeting/training

THE SOMMELIER ROLE COMES WITH:
