The Student Sonographer assists sonographers and physicians in the performance of diagnostic and / or therapeutic procedures by preparing the patient and operating the ultrasound equipment in order to obtain diagnostic scans.

Qualifications:
- Education: High School Diploma or GED, required. Currently enrolled in CAAHEP or ARRT-recognized Sonography Program or ARRT, required.
- Experience: Successful completion of two semesters in CAAHEP or ARRT-recognized Sonography Program, required.
- Additional Skills (required): Ability to successfully complete generic and department –specific skills validation. Good communication skills. Working knowledge of various types of ultrasound equipment. Able to adapt to new and various situations and procedures according to age of patient served . Basic understanding of basic US exams. Basic computer skills.
