Toll Group is seeking a talented Sourcing and Category Manager to join our team in Melbourne!

Your ability to work seamlessly within a team and foster connections will be essential to your success whilst you develop and execute sourcing strategies for your assigned categories. Based in St Kilda Road Melbourne and reporting into the General Manager, we offer a Hybrid working model, a market competitive salary and the opportunity to explore and take part in a range of learning and development activities and initiatives.

Key Responsibilities for this role will include:

  • Achieve Category Performance: Drive category performance to meet and exceed strategic targets.
  • Supplier Management: Lead market reviews, supplier selection processes, and negotiations to secure optimal supplier contracts.
  • Sourcing Exercises: Develop, run, and manage transparent sourcing exercises; negotiate and execute agreements with suppliers, ensuring effective contract implementation.
  • Project Delivery: Ensure all sourcing activities and projects are delivered on time, achieving agreed savings and value targets.
  • Supplier Engagement: Coordinate supplier engagement across projects, promoting ongoing improvement in purchasing spend.
  • Relationship Building: Foster relationships to enhance communication, information exchange, and understanding within the business and with project suppliers.
  • Budget Formulation: Formulate annual and future procurement budgets to align with organizational goals.
  • Commercial Arrangements: Plan, implement, and roll out supplier commercial arrangements across your categories, ensuring compliance and driving innovation.

In order to succeed in this role, it is expected that you will have:

  • 10+ Years’ experience in a strategic sourcing and commercial management role including sound knowledge of legal terms and contractual requirements
  • Knowledge and experience of supplier issues, leverage points/techniques and knowledge of the Sales process
  • Understanding of and experience in complex negotiations aimed at ensuring value is maximised for both Toll and Suppliers with risks managed by those best placed to manage it
  • Understanding of and experience in managing / negotiations for the categories in scope.

Technical/Professional Skills required:

  • Ability to document and present options and recommendations to support supplier selection decisions
  • Commercial management and negotiation skills coupled with the ability to influence and negotiate with the suppliers on all commercial aspects of contracts and deals.
  • Strong analytical skills and preparation of meaningful reports based on data
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills
  • Strong business acumen

Qualifications – Education and/or professional

  • Undergraduate tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline preferred (e.g. B. Bus)
  • Professional membership of relevant associations (e.g. CIPS
