Description:

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the engineering department to source, identify, and develop new global vendors, arranging product samples based on urgency, product type, location, capability, cost, and quality.
  • Manage and mitigate single-source raw material risks by developing contingency and alternate supply plans and have both local and overseas supplier selections.
  • Lead negotiations and manage contracts on a global, regional, and local scale.
  • Conduct data analysis to assess internal client requirements, review purchase requisitions for compliance, and support the preparation of bids and proposals, including product and price comparisons.
  • Act as a key liaison with Engineering, Procurement, and Production teams to ensure alignment of strategies and processes.
  • Consider the supply chain interruptions and tariff situation and develop an appropriate kanban or stocking program to avoid production delays.
  • focus on continuous improvement on end products considering quality and cost in mind to yield a comfortable profit margin. Analyze data to assess the benefits of buying directly from raw material sources versus distributors.
  • Maintain regular communication with vendors through travel and video conferencing to evaluate proposals and share market trend analysis.
  • Maintain and update the supplier database, identifying alternative suppliers when needed to ensure continuity of supply. Implement and control a strict supplier approval process by studying the background of the suppliers that we intend to deal with
  • Conduct process validation and verification to ensure vendor products meet specifications before shipment, using appropriate quality documentation
