JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY
At Avio Aero, a GE Aerospace Company, we’ve been reimagining the power of flight for more than 100 years. We are specialized in the design, production and maintenance of components and systems for engine and mechanical transmissions applied to both civil and military aviation (i.e., accessory drivetrains, engine thermal management, turboprop & helicopter reduction gearboxes, etc.).
You will be responsible to drive, together with other functions, the development of new/critical suppliers to meet capability, capacity, quality and delivery target. You will perform Suppliers Capacity and Risk assessment and will be accountable for the results and risk mitigation actions in front of Leadership and Customers. Starting from review of commodities needs, supplier performances and new assigned business, you will define jointly with the supplier the needed plan aimed to guarantee a full recovery of the gaps and will ensure a full and timely execution of it.
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace or Mechanical engineering from an accredited university or college
- Proven experience in Sourcing, Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing and / or related fields
- Experience in Supplier Evaluation, Assessment, or auditing
- Strong ability to build relationship with suppliers and with internal team
- Czech and English fluent
- Availability to travel
- Work Visa in accordance with local regulation is required
Responsibilities:
- Leads visits at key supplier sites to perform Capacity, Operational Capabilities and Risk assessment
- Identify improvement and risk mitigation opportunities at key supplier sites and manage these improvement activities
- Partner with Procurement, Commodities and Supplier Quality stakeholders to create supplier development plans for selected critical suppliers focused on quality, delivery, capacity and supplier process capability
- Drive execution of supplier performance improvement plans and interface with internal and external partners to collaboratively pursue solutions and closure of action plans
- Collaborating with suppliers to improve their processes and product manufacturing capabilities
- Assist selective suppliers in their journey to becoming lean, as well as, strengthen the relationship between the two companies
- Develop strong working supplier relationships with regular communication and site visits
- Business trips almost 50%
