Responsibilities:
IN A NUTSHELL, YOUR MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES ARE:
- Ensuring your area is properly organized, staffed and directed.
- Ordering required food and equipment daily to satisfy the production plan.
- Forecasting for accurate purchase orders and weekly supply of goods.
- Providing leadership and training to new and junior staff members.
- Executing and supervising food production, packing & tray-set activities.
- Preparing complex dietary meals to specifications provided.
- Support the Unit Manager with operational purchasing and supply tasks.
- Monitoring and ensuring KPI compliance including recipe specifications.
- Monitoring and controlling labour, food costs and shrinkage against budget.
- Participating in the development of food products and menus as needed for our airline client menu presentations.
WHAT DO YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN SECURING THIS ROLE?
- Demonstrated success in a similar role.
- Trade qualified Chef with at least 3 years’ experience in a high volume food production environment or large catering venue.
- Advanced knowledge of HACCP / QSAI / Food Safety and OHS.
- Prior experience working in a team environment with demonstrated leadership skills.
- Cost conscious and previous experience with forecasting.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office and Windows-based computer applications.
- As you will be working in the Aviation Services industry, you will be required to obtain a clear National Police Check (at our cost).
- Availability to work 38 hours/week, as this role is a full-time permanent position.
