Description:
Sous Chef (Greek Cuisine)
REPORT TO: Head Chef
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for managing the day to day culinary operations
- Ensure quality, consistency, portions and presentations of all dishes
- Supervise culinary staff, ensure adequate staffing and implement training to increase staff knowledge about safety, sanitation and accident prevention principles.
- Source, compare and negotiate for bulk purchases from local and overseas suppliers; communicate with overseas suppliers and logistics partners for Greek supplies.
- Arrange for repairs of kitchen equipments when necessary
- Any other duties tasked by Head Chef or based on operational needs
Requirements:
- Prefer Bachelor’s Degree graduate in any discipline. Diploma holders with more years of experience will also be considered
- Experience with Greek cuisine is essential
- Prior experience in fine dining Greek gastronomy is preferred
- Proficiency in Greek language to liaise with suppliers in Greece
- Proficiency in basic computer software is a requirement
- Good interpersonal skills and communication skills
- Required to work split shift and able to work on weekends and Public Holidays.
