Description:

Sous Chef (Greek Cuisine)
REPORT TO: Head Chef

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for managing the day to day culinary operations
  • Ensure quality, consistency, portions and presentations of all dishes
  • Supervise culinary staff, ensure adequate staffing and implement training to increase staff knowledge about safety, sanitation and accident prevention principles.
  • Source, compare and negotiate for bulk purchases from local and overseas suppliers; communicate with overseas suppliers and logistics partners for Greek supplies.
  • Arrange for repairs of kitchen equipments when necessary
  • Any other duties tasked by Head Chef or based on operational needs

Requirements:

  • Prefer Bachelor’s Degree graduate in any discipline. Diploma holders with more years of experience will also be considered
  • Experience with Greek cuisine is essential
  • Prior experience in fine dining Greek gastronomy is preferred
  • Proficiency in Greek language to liaise with suppliers in Greece
  • Proficiency in basic computer software is a requirement
  • Good interpersonal skills and communication skills
  • Required to work split shift and able to work on weekends and Public Holidays.
