THE EXCITING OPPORTUNITY
We are currently looking for talented Sous Chef to join our Kitchen Team at the Aloft Aberdeen TECA. As Sous Chef, you will be an integral part of the Kitchen Brigade as well as the management team. Reporting into the Cluster Head Chef, you will be responsible for being the team lead, providing exceptional food, for using your skills and experience to coach and train the team and for supporting the Cluster Head Chef in the day to day running of the kitchen. The successful applicant for this role will have a positive ‘can do’ attitude, be passionate about every aspect of food and cooking and show that they care.
Responsibilities:
- You will be responsible for the day-to-day running of the Kitchen.
- A great personality and be genuine, approachable, attentive and instinctive.
- A proven track record in a similar role or an experienced Chef de Partie looking to step up.
- Strong training and development skills so you can share your skills with others.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to effectively manage and motivate the individuals within your team to support them in achievement of their personal development goals.
- Good organisation and planning skills gained through previous experience.
- Good IT skills for admin work and basic Microsoft office skills is required.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple tasks and services.
- Relevant food hygiene certificates
- Schedule and manage kitchen staff to ensure efficient operation across all meal services.
- Conduct regular performance reviews and provide ongoing training to enhance skills and knowledge.
- Oversee the preparation and cooking of meals for breakfast, lunch, and dinner services.
- Ensure all kitchen operations comply with health and safety regulations, including food hygiene standards.
- Manage inventory and order supplies, ensuring the kitchen is stocked with necessary ingredients and equipment.
- Address any customer feedback related to food quality or service in a timely and professional manner.
- Assist in budgeting for kitchen operations, including food costs, labour, and equipment.
