Description:

Smoking Goat is an open fire Thai Barbecue restaurant and bar. We cook food influenced by the street food of Bangkok through to the laab stalls of northern Thailand. We are a busy restaurant that works closely with a number of exceptional farmers and a menu which changes daily. We have a focus on interesting beers on tap & sharing bottles, natural wines, and an ever-growing collection of vinyl records.
We welcome applicants from those looking to develop and be inspired. Experience in Thai cuisine is not essential but a desire to learn and be part of a strong team-focussed restaurant is expected.
We are looking for an experienced Sous Chef to join our team, working in a friendly, fast paced environment where research, creativity and new ideas are encouraged from everyone. New dishes are briefed daily and each service we focus on a different wine. The team benefits from visits to our suppliers in Cornwall and Somerset and research trips around the regions of Thailand.

The ideal candidate;

  • Will have a strong a passion for produce and suppliers
  • Have experience in a similar restaurant environment and be confident in supporting the development needs of the team.
  • Strong knowledge of kitchen administrative duties such as due diligence, ordering, stock take and rotas.

As we grow our belief that restaurants can be better connected to farming and the seasons means that what is on the plate and in the glass remains the focus of what we do. Our restaurants are driven by our belief that we can serve beautiful produce in a fun and relaxed atmosphere.

As part of Super 8 our teams have access to a wide range of benefits and opportunities across the company.

  • 50% staff discount across the group along with inter-company discount from a selection of London restaurants.
  • Through close relationships with our suppliers, all of our teams have the opportunity to take part in our annual wine harvests, learning and cooking trips to the farms we work with.
  • Opportunity to work closely with our suppliers and talented people in the industry to deliver innovative and exciting collaborations and events.
  • Access to full training and development both in house and working alongside our external training partners in areas such as Diversity Equity & Inclusion, Management development and coaching, Food Safety, Health and Safety and Wine training.
  • Employee referral programme; £500 reward.
