Are you a passionate chef looking for an exciting opportunity to showcase your culinary skills? Our client, a well-established regional hospitality group, is seeking an experienced Sous Chef to join their team at a popular gastro pub located in Thirsk, North Yorkshire.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
We’re looking for a Sous Chef with experience in high-quality gastro pubs who has worked at a senior level. You should have a proven track record of leading a kitchen, a strong understanding of seasonal ingredients, and the ability to deliver creative, delicious dishes that reflect both traditional and modern styles.
Responsibilities:
THE ROLE
As Sous Chef, you will work closely with the Head Chef to deliver a menu that expertly blends traditional dishes with modern food offerings, all focused around the finest seasonal ingredients. You will be responsible for assisting in menu development, overseeing kitchen operations, and ensuring high standards of food quality and service. You’ll also take the lead in the kitchen when the Head Chef is absent, running daily operations smoothly and efficiently.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Supporting the Head Chef in all aspects of kitchen management
- Leading kitchen operations during the Head Chef’s absence
- Creating seasonal menus with a balance of traditional and modern dishes
- Managing stock, suppliers, and food cost control
- Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations
